PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Carson-Newman Child and Family Studies program prepares you to work in a variety of settings like schools, agencies, homes, community centers and hospitals, promoting positive development in the lives of children and families.
Small class sizes provide an optimal learning environment. You will also get plenty of hands-on experience outside the classroom in our Child Development Lab. Student organizations give you a place to build leadership skills while also serving the campus and community. The program includes enough electives that you can minor in an area related to your specific interests and career goals.
The Child and Family Studies major is an approved Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) program, recognized by the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR).
